A downloadable game
Tower defense with a tech-tree. Your fortress is under attack from evil geometry, but you can build towers to defend yourself. And blast them out of the plane with various weapons.
Each enemy killed will give you gold to buy more towers or upgrade your existing towers.
After each level you can upgrade your skills with a tech tree, where you invest some meta currency that you gain from killing enemies or completing levels.
The game can be played with joystick in port 2 or keyboard control. It has been developed for PAL systems.
Keyboard in tech tree:
Cursor keys : move selection square
Space/Enter : upgrade node
F1: Save current tree and level completion info to disk
F3: Load from disk
F5: Reset tech tree and regain all meta currency
F7: Swap tech tree with a shadow copy
F2: Switch between drive 8 and 9
T : Toggle music / sfx
Keyboard in defense mode:
Cursor keys : select tower or menu item
Space/Enter : enter menu / select menu item
X : Exit menu
W : Fast forward to next wave
A : Build arrow tower
L : Build lightning tower
F : Build fire tower
M : Build mortar tower
B : Build blizzard tower
Z : Build lazer tower
U : Upgrade tower
P : Pause attack
H : Heal fortress

Brilliant, brilliant game. As with Overload you have to spend a little time with it to work things out. Not quite sure what the purple squares mean, and how you earn them but I seem to be progressing.
Very well done game! The only proper Tower Defense game I know on the C64.

Is that intended, that you can not max out the tech tree?
Yes, this is intended. You can earn 64 squares and 16 triangles but spend 85 squares and 18 triangles to max out the tree. You can reset your tree and respend or work with a second tree and alternate two settings.
I absolutely love this game! Tower defense is one of my favorite genres, and this title hits all the marks. It’s incredibly addictive, the music and graphics are top-notch, and the controls—both joystick and keyboard—are super intuitive.
The upgrade management, pause feature, and auto-wave progression make the gameplay seamless. I also appreciate the toggle between music and SFX. What more could you ask for? Maybe a sequel in the future! This was well worth the $25 for me. Huge congrats to the developers! :-)
